In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling The Monster Book of Monsters is on Harry’s list of set books for his third year at Hogwarts.
At the bookshop Flourish & Blotts these books are kept in an iron cage, because they are quite aggressive: They have already bitten the manager five times when he wanted to sell one, and they are ripping themselves apart in the cage.
Only Hagrid knows the trick how to open Monster Book of Monsters without being bitten …
